DOT Type 1
DOT Type 1 is a crushed limestone sub-base material graded to Department of Transport specification, making it the most widely used bulk aggregate in UK construction and groundworks. Unless your contract specifically requires a Clause 803 highways certificate, DOT Type 1 performs identically to MOT Type 1 at a lower cost. MOT Type 1
MOT Type 1 is a crushed limestone sub-base carrying a Clause 803 highways certificate from third-party testing. It is required for public highway works, adoptable roads, Section 38 and Section 278 road adoption agreements, and any contract specifying certified sub-base materials. Same material as DOT Type 1 with the addition of third-party grading and compliance testing.
